Boatbuilding Update April 14

Our Hudson Star is getting prettied up. For the last several weeks we have been sanding and varnishing the insides, the gunwales, the seats and the floorboards. Besides making our new boat glow, the varnish will protect the wood from salt, dirt and UV rays, which are especially harmful to the epoxy fiberglass coating. Volunteers have been numerous and productive. We are nearing the end of the process and looking forward to launching Hudson Star in a month or so.
